TeleDo

• Tele: to, at or from a distance
• Do: to perform or execute an action

So, TeleDo stands for something like "working from a distance".

This logo has changed over the years, this most recent version is..indeed.. mostly ai generated, with a little sauce of my own thrown over it. I think it looks ok, until I change it again.

History

I started working under the name TeleDo in 2017. My wife and I bought a 4x4 campervan, we decided to quit our jobs, sell our house and see the world! While travelling, I would try to do some remote work and that is how I came up with the name TeleDo. We travelled for 1,5 year all over Europe and a bit of Africa and Asia. I did do some remote work, mostly Research and Development for my previous employer Philips (which also led to three patents with my name on it).

After we returned, TeleDo was put on hold. We found new, even better jobs, bought a new and bigger house with garden, and best of all: we made a beautifull daughter! However, we always had this strong desire to do things a bit different, to travel, to do something more original. So at the beginning of 2024, we decided to travel again and this time, focus more on our selves, be more creative, artistic and create original products. This website shows what I have created up until now.

What do I do?

I sometimes wonder myself... But I currently create (puzzle) coloring books for both children and adults. I have made a notebook with many fun elements to keep you from getting bored during meetings or lectures. I am working on writing and illustrating a children's picture book. I am making a mobile game and a companion app for one of the junior coloring books. I design t-shirts and other printables. I create software to help me create stuff. I want to make a stop-motion animation movie. I want to write a graphics novel. I want to make wooden kinetic art. My head is overflowing with ideas! That is why I have quit my day job and I am now working hard to actually make some of my ideas come true!

Above is a picture from my local newspaper. One of the books that I have made, consists of hand-drawn coloring pages of local sites in and around my hometown Groningen, Netherlands. This book is also being sold at the tourist information office in my town. The books has been well received and I am considering to make another, similar, book with famous places and sites in the Netherlands. Or maybe another town, like Amsterdam?

Ocassionally, I pick up some interesting or challenging software development projects, especially in the field of A.I., computer vision or image analysis. But I also make Android apps, small games, and this website ;)

I have done several projects in these fields, mostly at Philips, Drachten. I have also given workshops and presentations on digital technology subjects, most recently related to A.I.. I, for example, showed how easy it is to fool people with fake companies, products or websites with the help of generative AI. Or, on the more positive side, how to create new software using generative AI as a sparring partner, nowadays often called "Vibe Coding".
